Job summary

Hippo Harvest is seeking a Plant Technician in Pescadero, CA to support data-driven greenhouse operations. You will work with the Plant Science team to collect, analyze, and record plant growth data, ensuring baselines and monitoring changes across parameters such as EC, pH, and nutrient samples.

Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, comfortable with spreadsheets, and capable of collaborating within a small, innovative team to improve growth outcomes in an automated, hydroponic system.

Qualifications

• Detail oriented mindset with willingness to learn.
• Experience with spreadsheets for data entry.
• Familiarity with basic laboratory skills (e.g. stock solutions, pipetting).
• Ability and desire to work effectively in a team.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Weekend availability.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Plant Science team to gather and analyze data on plant performance.
• Record and track growing parameters to establish baselines and monitor changes.
• Collect and compile plant growing data (imagery, EC, pH, nutrient samples, etc.).
• Monitor the quantities and quality of growing inputs.
• Maintain laboratory facility and measuring equipment.
• Use sterile technique to culture and isolate growing contaminants.
