Job summary

Southern Growers Wholesale Nursery & Greenhouses is seeking a General Manager to lead communications, operations, production, HR, finances, and planning at our Montgomery nursery. You will serve as a company leader reporting to ownership and guiding staff across departments to achieve growth and profitability.

Responsibilities include people and production management, budgeting, safety compliance, and strategic planning, with travel to trade shows and industry events.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years leadership and grower operations experience.
• Industry knowledge in horticulture, greenhouse, landscaping and nursery sectors.
• Excellent organization, time-management and administrative skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team within 60 days of start date using LEAN principles.
• Achieve annual sales and profit goals and motivate staff.
• Run bi-weekly EC meetings and coordinate departments.
• Oversee production, irrigation, nutrients and environmental controls.
• Develop and manage production and sales forecasts; ensure alignment.
• Oversee capital projects such as expansion or new technology.
