Job summary

OSU-Oklahoma City is seeking a Grounds and Greenhouses Supervisor to manage day-to-day operations at the John Kirkpatrick Building, supervise work-study staff and volunteers, and ensure safe, efficient maintenance of gardens, greenhouses, and related facilities.

The role includes advanced horticultural tasks, pest management, equipment operation, scheduling, budgeting, training, and coordination with campus facilities.

Qualifications

• Two years greenhouse experience and grounds maintenance.
• Two years supervisory experience.
• Valid Oklahoma driver’s license and ability to operate university fleet vehicle.
• Ability to obtain pesticide applicator license within six months.
• Knowledge of crop production and horticultural practices.
• Ability to lead, supervise, and train staff.

Responsibilities

• Effective budget management, cost containment, and project management of multiple projects.
• Plans work schedules, assigns tasks, and conveys technical direction to staff and student workers.
• Coordinates and delivers equipment use, pesticide, and general safety training.
• Produces, propagates, grows, and cares for floral and plant crops; tracks and reports production data.
• Maintains greenhouse and grounds, coordinates routine maintenance and safety procedures.
• Develops pest management and nutrition programs; monitors for disease and pests.
