Job summary

The Crop Biotechnology lab at University of Florida, headed by Fredy Altpeter, is seeking an OPS Greenhouse and Field Technician who is efficient in multi-tasking and time management, work well with others, pay attention to detail, are experienced with greenhouse and/or field research, and have a desire to learn new skills.

The incumbent will carry out research in management of plant growth facilities and/or field experiments.

Qualifications

• Valid driver license and experience with greenhouse or field crops.
• Exceptional performance skills: self-motivation, attention to detail, honesty, dependability and adaptability; good interpersonal and communication skills in English; able to lift 50 lbs.
• Bachelor's degree in Plant Science preferred; recent graduates encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Carry out research in management of plant growth facilities and/or field experiments.
• Work a 40-hour week, including some weekends.
• Collaborate with team and maintain detailed records of activities.
