Are you an experienced GRE tutor with a passion for helping students achieve meaningful score improvements? Novastar Prep is seeking a knowledgeable, strategic, and results-driven GRE Test Prep Tutor to provide individualized, one-on-one instruction to students preparing for the Graduate Record Examination (GRE).

We're particularly interested in educators who go beyond traditional content review and practice problems to teach effective test-taking strategies, improve time management, and help students approach challenging questions with greater speed, accuracy, and confidence.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide personalized, one-on-one GRE tutoring in both Quantitative Reasoning and Verbal Reasoning.

Develop individualized instructional strategies based on students' strengths, weaknesses, and target scores.

Teach advanced GRE-specific techniques, including quantitative comparison strategies, mathematical shortcuts, logical reasoning, and efficient problem-solving.

Help students improve pacing, accuracy, and time management under timed testing conditions.

Identify underlying performance barriers and adapt instruction to address recurring challenges.

Monitor student progress through practice assessments, targeted exercises, and ongoing feedback.

Support students who have previously worked with tutors but need a more strategic approach to achieve further improvement.

Personalized Tutoring:

Work directly with students to develop targeted strategies and support measurable academic progress.

Who We're Looking For:

Educational Background:

Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field.

GRE Expertise:

Strong knowledge of the GRE's structure, content, scoring, and test-taking strategies.

Teaching Experience:

At least one year of recent or current tutoring or teaching experience, with prior GRE preparation experience strongly preferred.

Demonstrated Success:

A strong personal GRE score and/or documented experience helping students achieve meaningful score improvements.

Strategic Instruction:

Ability to teach efficient problem-solving techniques, particularly for GRE Quantitative Reasoning, rather than relying solely on repetitive practice.

Communication Skills:

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt instruction to individual learning styles.

Reliable Technology:

Dependable internet connection and proficiency with online instructional tools.

Commitment:

Ability to provide consistent, individualized support throughout a student's preparation.

Background Check:

Ability to pass a background check.
