Job summary

EliseAI seeks a Director of Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) to scale our risk and compliance programs. You will lead and grow the GRC team to meet regulatory and IT audit readiness, manage third-party risk, and ensure policies align with industry standards.

You will work with Legal, Security, and business leaders to operationalize compliance and support audits. This high-impact role requires driving audit readiness, cross-functional alignment, and scalable governance across SOC 1, SOC 2,

Qualifications

• 8+ years in Governance, Risk and Compliance with 3+ years in leadership
• Deep expertise across SOC1, SOC2, PCI, HIPAA, ISO certifications
• Proven end-to-end audit program management with external auditors
• Experience building or scaling a GRC function including hiring and development
• Strong vendor risk management and third-party due diligence
• Ability to translate complex topics for execs and board-level audiences
• Excellent cross-functional influencing with Legal, Engineering and business leaders
• Willingness to work in person at our office 4-5 days a week

Responsibilities

• Own and lead the GRC program and set strategic direction across frameworks (SOC 1, SOC 2, PCI, HIPAA, HITRUST)
• Serve as primary owner of audit relationships: planning, evidence collection, documentation, auditor communications
• Define and enforce compliance roadmaps with cross-functional alignment
• Attract and mentor top-tier talent; manage team performance
• Oversee vendor risk management including third-party due diligence and escalation of findings
• Lead reviews of vendor and client security questionnaires with Security Engineering
• Own the security and compliance policy framework and drive adoption
• Partner with Legal and Security on security-related contractual obligations including addenda
