Job summary

Quad/Graphics is seeking an entry-level Offset plate / Gravure Cylinder Manufacturer at our Kentucky location. You will bend web offset plates, assist with daily and weekly maintenance, and help processing gravure cylinders to keep presses running smoothly.

Responsibilities include loading materials, maintaining platemaking equipment, checking plates and cylinders for quality, and using Smart tools to track production.

Qualifications

• Basic working knowledge of computer systems used in Plate room (Windows OS).
• Basic mechanical skills are required.
• Flexible work schedules to meet production needs; shifts and locations may vary.
• Knowledge of press layout configurations (Saddle Stitch, Perfect Binding, Gatefolds, ¾ webs) would help but not required.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload platemaking materials to and from equipment for bending plates for presses.
• Maintain platemaking equipment with daily/weekly maintenance; troubleshoot errors.
• Check plates and cylinders for quality.
• Track or move job components through production using Smart tools.
• Cylinder stripping, electro-plating, engraving.
• Load/unload, store and retrieve gravure cylinders using W.I.P. and LTS systems and overhead cranes.
• General production duties, including cleaning and inspecting cylinders.
• General area cleanup (6s).
