Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Pipe Layer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience installing underground utility systems, including water, sewer, storm drainage, and related infrastructure. This position requires the ability to work safely in trenches, read grade stakes, and work effectively with excavation and utility crews.

Pay Range

$18.50 per hour

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of pipe laying experience in underground utility construction.
  • Experience installing water, sewer, storm drainage, and utility systems.
  • Ability to read construction plans, blueprints, and grade stakes.
  • Knowledge of trench safety requirements and excavation practices.
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions and physically demanding environments.
  • Valid driver’s license preferred.
  • OSHA certification is a plus.

  • Strong understanding of underground utility installation methods.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a construction crew.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Knowledge of proper pipe alignment, grading, and installation techniques.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install underground water, sewer, storm drain, and utility piping according to project specifications and blueprints.
  • Prepare trenches and work areas for pipe installation.
  • Align, connect, and secure pipe sections using proper tools and techniques.
  • Verify pipe grade, elevation, and alignment using lasers, levels, and grade stakes.
  • Assist with trench shoring, backfilling, compaction, and site restoration.
  • Work closely with equipment operators, foremen, and utility crews to ensure efficient project completion.
  • Inspect materials and completed work to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Follow all OSHA safety regulations and company safety policies.
  • Perform general labor duties as needed to support construction operations.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds or more.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in trenches.
  • Ability to work outdoors in heat, humidity, rain, and other weather conditions.
