Job summary

High Grade Materials is seeking a Gravel Pit Supervisor to lead the crew and keep production flowing at our Michigan site. You will leverage your equipment knowledge to operate and maintain crushers, screens, pumps, haul trucks, and loaders while managing daily production and safety compliance.

You will oversee personnel, training, scheduling, and reporting to ensure on-time delivery and quality. The role requires flexibility for varying shifts and overtime as needed to meet product demands.

Qualifications

• Possession of a valid driver license.
• Clean/safe driving record.
• Ability to pass a drug screen.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment physical.
• Hands-on experience with crushers, screens, pumps, haul trucks and loaders.
• Knowledge of Office systems (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Personnel management experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, organizational, problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to motivate and unite the team.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must pass safety regulations and policies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain material quality and inventory to meet demand.
• Operate equipment as needed (loader, dozer, excavator, haul truck, skid steer).
• Develop and follow site production schedules and budgets; report to Manager.
• Ensure compliance with all regulations (Safety, Environmental, Permitting, Zoning).
• Perform site and equipment maintenance and housekeeping.
• Manage and develop personnel including hiring, training, and disciplinary actions.
• Facilitate training including MSHA and equipment operation.
• Adapt to varying product demands and overtime as required.
• Report incidents to Human Resources and coordinate with team.

Job Responsibilities

• Maintains proper material quality and inventory levels of material to meet demand
• Occasionally may be required to operate various equipment such as loader, dozer, excavator, haul truck, skid steer to run materials thru a wash plant or dry screener.
• Development and adherence to site production schedules, budgets, production, and cost management. Daily, weekly, and monthly reporting and communication to Manager.
• Assure adherence to all State, Federal, local regulations including Safety, Environmental, Permitting, and Zoning.
• Performs site and basic equipment maintenance/repairs and housekeeping duties. Responsible for keeping property in an organized, clean, professional manner.
• Responsible for keeping company property clean and maintained.
• Personnel management and development, including but not limited to: hiring employees, training, disciplinary measures, termination.
• Responsible for facilitating training of new employees including MSHA and equipment training.
• Must be willing to work according to the company’s product demands.
• Adhere to all safety regulations including company policies, State, and Federal regulations.
• Responsible for reporting all incidents/injuries to Human Resources as soon as they occur. Communicates with others within the company on inventory and day-to-day operations.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Must be able to work a flexible schedule with flexible hours, hours vary; overtime work; Saturdays and nights, may be required
