Job summary

The International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) seeks a Program Officer in the United States to advance grassroots advocacy and policy priorities. The role combines coalition work, digital strategy, and offline engagement to mobilize supporters and influence Congress.

Based in the US, you will map Congressional districts, develop engagement plans, and coordinate across departments to grow IFAW’s grassroots network while tracking impact for reporting and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field preferred.
• 2-4 years of relevant experience such as Capitol Hill or grassroots advocacy.
• Proven ability to build relationships with diverse communities and mobilize volunteers or constituents.
• Experience creating content for online advocacy campaigns and newsletters.
• Familiarity with CRM and advocacy platforms.

Responsibilities

• Develop a grassroots supporter outreach strategy and plan.
• Organize events, webinars, and community outreach programs to mobilize supporters to take action.
• Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, volunteers, activists, and stakeholders.
• Provide training to supporters on advocacy tactics and campaigns.
• Draft emails, petitions, and social content to promote engagement and signups.
