This hands-on role reports to the Marketing Lead and collaborates with teams across the company to deliver polished artwork, templates, and production-ready files for digital and physical applications.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of demonstrated graphic design experience.

Graphic Designer

Compensation: $95,000 - $115,000 / year

Description

As a Graphic Designer at Impulse, you will bring our industry-defining brand to life across everything we do. We’re looking for someone with excellent visual taste, strong design instincts, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to move quickly across formats. You should be equally comfortable creating something new and as well as refining, formatting, and producing excellent design at scale.

This is a hands‑on, execution-focused role within the Marketing team, reporting to the Marketing Lead. You’ll take Impulse’s established visual brand apply it with exceptional craft, consistency, and creativity across a wide range of work – serving as a centralized design resource across Impulse. You’ll work closely with Marketing, Business Development, Government Relations, Recruiting, Operations. Facilities, Engineering, Executive Leadership, Finance, and other teams across the company.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a centralized graphic design resource, executing and extending the Impulse visual brand in support of Marketing, Business Development, Government Relations, Recruiting, Operations, Facilities, Engineering, Executive Leadership, Finance, and other teams across the company
  • Create campaign assets across social, digital, web, advertising, recruiting, PR, and other marketing channels
  • Design and polish presentations, one‑pagers, reports, infographics, diagrams, templates, and other collateral for internal teams, executives, customers, partners, government stakeholders, investors, the Board, recruits, and other audiences
  • Turn rough content, ideas, and existing materials into clear, polished visual communications that feel intentional, finished, and unmistakably Impulse
  • Translate complex technical information into compelling visual storytelling to make spacecraft, propulsion, missions, and aerospace concepts clear to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Support executing the Impulse brand across physical applications, including spacecraft and hardware, offices and facilities, event and conference materials, environmental graphics, signage, displays, shipping containers, and other physical assets; support the Merchandise Manager with merchandise design as requested
  • Thoughtfully extend the existing brand system when new applications or creative needs arise while maintaining a consistent visual identity
  • Build and maintain templates, reusable graphic systems, asset libraries, and other resources that enable consistently excellent design as the company scales
  • Prepare final artwork and production‑ready files across digital, print, large‑format, physical, and merchandise applications
  • Own design details through final delivery, including sizing, file preparation, proofs, vendor specifications, and quality control
  • Identify opportunities to improve design workflows and make high‑quality creative execution faster and more scalable
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 4+ years of demonstrated graphic design experience
  • Strong professional experience in graphic design, visual communication, or a related discipline, with an exceptional portfolio demonstrating excellent typography, composition, hierarchy, layout, and visual judgment
  • Demonstrated ability to work within an established brand system and creatively extend it across digital, print, presentation, campaign, and physical applications
  • Strong proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Figma, Microsoft Office applications, and other relevant design tools, with excellent production skills and an understanding of how design moves from concept through final execution
  • Ability to take incomplete, rough, or highly technical source material and turn it into polished visual communication
  • Strong attention to detail and a high bar for finished work. Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, stakeholders, and deadlines in a fastmoving environment
  • Comfortable receiving creative direction and feedback while independently driving work through completion
  • Collaborative, low‑ego approach and willingness to move between highly visible creative projects and everyday production needs
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Demonstrated experience working in aerospace, technology, hardware, engineering, robotics, AI, or another technically complex industry
  • Demonstrated experience with environmental graphics, signage, large‑format production, events, or experiential design
  • Experience designing merchandise and working with apparel or merchandise vendors
  • Motion graphics, animation, 3D, photography, or video capabilities
Additional Information

Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job‑related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full‑time hires, you may also be eligible for long‑term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.

Impulse Space’s spacecraft manufacturing business is subject to U.S. export regulations including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
