Job summary

The Clear Publishing, the publishing division of Al-Furqaan Foundation, seeks an experienced Graphic Designer focused on professional publication and book design. This is a full-time, in-person role in Romeoville, Illinois, requiring advanced Adobe InDesign skills and a strong portfolio of multi-page print projects.

You will design and format books, educational materials, catalogs, and other print publications from concept through print-ready delivery, collaborating with publishing and marketing

Qualifications

• Advanced proficiency in Adobe InDesign and ability to design multi-page print projects.
• Professional graphic design and publication layout skills.
• Demonstrated experience designing books, magazines, or multi-page publications.
• Strong understanding of typography, grids, styles, master pages, image placement, and print production workflows.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Ability to produce print-ready files to commercial standards.
• Excellent attention to detail and consistency.
• Project management skills; ability to work independently from concept through final production.
• English fluency; Arabic or Urdu language skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Quality-check all files for layout, spacing, alignment, image quality, and production specifications.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects and meet deadlines.
• Collaborate with publishing, marketing, and editorial teams.

The Clear Publishing, the publishing division of Al-Furqaan Foundation (a 501(c)(3) non-profit Islamic organization dedicated to sharing the Quran across America), is seeking an experienced Graphic Designer specialized in professional publication and book design. This is a full-time, in-person role in Romeoville, Illinois, requiring advanced Adobe InDesign skills and a strong portfolio of multi-page print projects.

Role Overview

You will design and format professional publications, educational materials, books, workbooks, brochures, flyers, and catalogs from concept through print-ready delivery. This is not an entry-level position - you will work independently on complex, text-heavy projects while collaborating with publishing and marketing teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and format books, educational materials, workbooks, brochures, flyers, catalogs, and other print publications
• Create professional layouts in Adobe InDesign with strong attention to typography, grids, and brand consistency
• Develop supporting graphics and edit images using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
• Prepare accurate, print-ready files for commercial printing and digital distribution, including proper bleeds, margins, and image quality standards
• Manage text-heavy, multi-page documents while maintaining visual consistency and professional presentation
• Quality-check all files for layout, spacing, alignment, image quality, and production specifications

Required Qualifications

• Strong understanding of typography, grids, paragraph and character styles, master pages, image placement, and print production workflows
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
• Ability to produce print-ready files to commercial standards
• Excellent attention to detail and consistency
• Project management skills - ability to work from concept through final production independently
• Legally authorized to work in the United States English fluency; Arabic or Urdu language skills required

Preferred Qualifications

• Three or more years of graphic design experience with Illustrator and Photoshop
