Job summary

Sixteenfifty in La Jolla, CA is seeking a mid-level Graphic Designer to join our in-office team. You will work closely with art directors and senior designers on hospitality-focused campaigns, branding, and digital assets.

The role emphasizes typography, production skills, and a hands-on approach, with responsibility for creating design solutions across print, web, and social, while juggling multiple projects.

Qualifications

• 1–5 years of professional design experience; agency experience preferred.
• Ability to prepare final mechanical files for release to printer.
• Proficient with Mac OSX and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Understanding of typographic rules, color theory, and visual hierarchy.
• Reports to art directors and must bring ideas to the conversation.
• The ability to work in a timely manner to meet deadlines.
• Good presentation skills and interpersonal abilities.
• Self-motivated, willing to learn, and takes initiative.

Responsibilities

• Prepare files for print and web.
• Work within established brand systems while still finding opportunities to make the work fresh, engaging, and visually strong.
• Create design solutions for our various clients, including print, web, TV, social, environmental, and campaigns.
• Design and work on your own projects while multitasking with the team on various other projects.
• Collaborate with different teams on joint projects.
• Work on hospitality experiences from hotels, casinos, restaurants, products, and destinations.
