About Minnesota Street Project:

Located in San Francisco’s historic Dogpatch district, Minnesota Street Project offers economically sustainable spaces for art galleries, artists and related nonprofits. Inhabiting three warehouses, Minnesota Street Project seeks to retain and strengthen San Francisco's contemporary art community in the short term, while developing an internationally recognized arts destination in the long term.

Founded by entrepreneurs and collectors Deborah and Andy Rappaport, Minnesota Street Project was inspired by the couple's belief that philanthropic support for the arts today requires an alternate model—one that uplifts the innovative nature of San Francisco and the Bay Area as a whole.

Their vision of a dynamic, self-sustaining enterprise that encourages heightened support for the arts from newcomers and established patrons alike.

Job Summary:

We're seeking a Graphic Designer and Social Media Manager who can blend content management with hands-on graphic design and production. You'll be responsible for gathering information from multiple sources for our bi-monthly newsletters, managing storytelling across our social channels while also creating the visual assets — from event graphics to event and wayfinding signage to public programming promos — that bring MSP's programming to life.

  • Manage day-to-day content and manage calendar for posting across Instagram and other relevant platforms (primary channel for arts audiences)
  • Provide assistance to Executive and PR teams to grow awareness of resident galleries, exhibitions, and campus events
  • Track and report on engagement metrics, follower growth, and campaign performance
  • Create content for social media channels, campus wide messaging and outlets to encourage increased and more engaged participation by visitors campus wide
  • Manage community engagement — comments, DMs, tagging galleries and artists appropriately
  • Update Minnesota Street Project website on a regular and frequent basis
  • Establish layout and workflow including social media posts, newsletters for the Minnesota Street Project sourcing of appropriate images, and daily communications channel schedules and maintenance.

Graphic Production and Design

  • Produce short-form video content (reels, event recaps, artist spotlights) including basic editing
  • Support production of printed or digital collateral for First Saturday programming and campus-wide events (postcards, signage, email graphics)
  • Photograph gallery openings and events for use across channels
  • Maintain and evolve visual brand consistency across digital and print touchpoints

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Attend and document public programs and events
  • Coordinate with resident galleries to source content, exhibition images, and artist information
  • Use that content to produce bi-monthly newsletter
  • Work with programming/events team to plan content around openings, talks, and campus initiatives
  • Partner with leadership on messaging for institutional announcements
  • Coordinate with MSP Foundation to broadcast Studios and Exhibition programming
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Required Skills, Abilities, and Experience:

  • 3–5 years of experience in social media management, ideally in arts, culture, or nonprofit spaces
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or equivalent design tools
  • Strong photography and basic video editing skills (CapCut, Premiere, or similar)
  • Excellent writing skills with an eye for visual storytelling
  • Experience with scheduling/analytics tools (Meta Business Suite, Later, Sprout Social)
  • Interest in or knowledge of the contemporary art world a strong plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications, or related field (or equivalent experience)
