Job description

About Oberweis Dairy

Oberweis is a nearly century-old Midwest dairy brand rooted in quality, craft, and community. Headquartered in North Aurora, Illinois, Oberweis operates 40 neighborhood Ice Cream & Dairy Stores and a Home Delivery service serving families across Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Missouri, along with distribution through grocery partners.

Known for its iconic glass-bottled milk and super-premium ice cream, Oberweis focuses on doing things the right way—using high-quality ingredients, careful craftsmanship, and a commitment to delivering a premium experience in every product and every guest interaction.

In 2024, Oberweis became part of the Hoffmann Family of Companies and is entering an exciting new chapter of growth, with continued investment in stores, home delivery, and expanding the Oberweis experience to new communities.

About Hoffman Family of Companies: The Hoffmann Family of Companies is a family-owned, multi-vertical investment/holding enterprise. They operate across hospitality & entertainment, agriculture, manufacturing, aviation & transportation, financial & professional services, marine, media & marketing, and real estate. They focus on long-term investments rather than quick flips. They focus heavily on improving the operations of acquired companies, keeping brands and legacies intact. They emphasize long-term thinking, brand protection, employee/stakeholder experience, and investments that last.

The Role

This is an in-house design role at the heart of Oberweis’s marketing team. You’ll be responsible for bringing the brand to life across digital, print, packaging, and in-store environments, working closely with our Brand Manager, marketing team, and external partners to produce consistently on-brand creative. You’ll own the visual execution of campaigns, manage our creative asset library, and help maintain the brand standards that make Oberweis unmistakably us. If you move fast, sweat the details, and love design, let’s talk!

What You’ll Do
Design & Visual Production
  • Design digital collateral including email templates, social media graphics (organic and paid), website banners, landing pages, and digital menu boards
  • Create social content optimized for platform-specific formats across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and LinkedIn
  • Support email marketing with visually compelling layouts that drive click-through and reinforce brand identity
  • Collaborate with the Brand Manager on campaign concepting and translate briefs into polished, production-ready assets
  • Refresh design for online ordering menus, website, and packaging across all Oberweis product lines
  • Support new and exclusive product launches with cohesive, on-brand packaging and digital assets that tell the product story visually
  • Manage dielines, print specs, and vendor-ready files in collaboration with production and supply chain partners
In-Store & Print Materials
  • Create and maintain a full suite of in-store print materials including menu boards, promotional signage, table tents, window clings, and POP displays
  • Design seasonal and LTO promotional materials that drive guest awareness
  • Produce print-ready files for a range of vendors
  • Coordinate with Operations and Field Marketing to ensure in-store materials are current, on-brand, and executed consistently across locations
Digital Asset Management & Creative Library
  • Own and organize Oberweis’s creative asset library, ensuring the team always has access to current, on-brand imagery, templates, logos, fonts, and video assets
  • Establish and maintain a clear digital asset management structure and naming conventions that scale with the brand
  • Partner with photo and video production to ingest, tag, and distribute new assets after shoots
Brand Guidelines & Standards
  • Play an integral role in evolving Oberweis’s visual brand guidelines, including logo usage, color systems, typography, photography style, and design principles
  • Serve as an internal resource and guardian of brand standards, reviewing materials across teams and vendors for visual consistency
  • Contribute to the evolution of brand identity as the brand grows and enters new markets
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with the Brand Manager to align design output with campaign calendars and channel needs
  • Partner with external agencies, print vendors, and production partners to manage proofing, approvals, and on-time delivery
  • Receive and incorporate feedback from internal stakeholders with a solutions-first mindset
  • Support photo and video shoots with creative direction, art direction, and on-set assistance as needed
Must-Have Ingredients
Experience & Education
  • At least two years of graphic design experience in-house or at an agency, with a portfolio that demonstrates range across digital, print, and packaging
  • Experience in QSR, food & beverage, retail, consumer packaged goods, or a comparable fast-moving consumer brand strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or a related field preferred
  • Proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously and delivering polished work under deadline pressure
Technical Skills
  • Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
  • Experience with digital design tools such as Figma or Canva for collaboration and templating

  • Basic motion graphics or video editing skills (After Effects, Premiere) a plus but not required
Skills & Attributes
  • A strong, versatile portfolio
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Highly organized and self-directed
  • Collaborative and communicative
  • A genuine passion for brand
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
