TerraPower LLC. is seeking a Graphic Design Specialist to help shape clear, high-quality visual content for corporate communications and brand-facing initiatives. This onsite role in Rockville, MD supports work spanning digital marketing, recruiting materials, executive presentations, events, and stakeholder engagement, with an emphasis on turning complex technical ideas into visuals that communicate effectively.
Reporting to the Director of Communications and Marketing, the position works across multiple formats and touchpoints, helping maintain brand consistency while managing overlapping timelines and production needs.
Role Summary
Develop visually engaging designs and visual storytelling assets that support corporate communications, brand management, digital marketing, recruiting, executive presentations, events, and stakeholder engagement. Translate technical concepts into understandable, compelling graphics, coordinating with partners when production support is needed.
Responsibilities
- Create visually compelling designs for print, digital, social media, web, video, and presentations.
- Maintain, evolve, and apply visual identity standards and brand guidelines.
- Ensure consistency and quality across all communications materials and touchpoints.
- Coordinate with vendors and production partners to support high-quality execution.
- Manage multiple projects at once while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to understand objectives, gather requirements, and deliver creative solutions.
- Organize and maintain digital asset libraries and design templates.
- Design event branding including signage, exhibits, trade show materials, environmental graphics, and promotional items.
- Collaborate with content creators to develop visual storytelling approaches that support engagement.
- Create and optimize graphics for multiple digital platforms while maintaining brand consistency.
- Stay current on industry trends, technologies, and best practices to enhance engagement strategy.
Requirements
- Minimum 8 years of professional graphic design experience, preferably in-house or within a corporate environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Fine Arts, or a related field.
- Strong portfolio showing expertise across print, digital, presentation, and brand design.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
- Knowledge of motion graphics, animation, or video editing tools.
- Experience producing executive-level PowerPoint presentations and visual storytelling materials.
- Experience creating data visualizations and technical illustrations.
- Strong command of typography, layout, color theory, and visual hierarchy.
- Ability to communicate complex concepts through clear, engaging design.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills, including juggling competing priorities and meeting emergent deadlines.
- Ability to work as a proactive self-starter and team player with strong execution focus and multi-tasking ability.
- Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends for major projects.

Compensation & Details
- Salary range: USD 97,517 - 126,646 per yearly
- Any salary offered within the posted salary band is based on market data and commensurate with the selected individual’s qualifications and experience.
- This range is specific to Washington State.

Preferred

- Experience working in energy, infrastructure, technology, engineering, manufacturing, or other highly technical industries.
