Job Description
Creative Design & Visual Communications
  • Develop, design, and produce high-quality visual communications for print publications, digital platforms, websites, displays, exhibits, marketing materials, and other multimedia projects.
  • Translate complex concepts, research findings, and organizational objectives into compelling visual solutions that communicate clearly and effectively to diverse audiences. Create and refine layouts, typography, illustrations, graphics, photography treatments, and other visual assets while maintaining consistency with established branding guidelines.
  • Manage the creative process from concept development through final production, ensuring projects meet quality standards, accessibility requirements, deadlines, and stakeholder expectations. Review final deliverables and implement improvements as needed to maintain a high level of creative excellence.
Project Management & Client Collaboration
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects while balancing priorities and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced communications environment.
  • Serve as a creative consultant to faculty, staff, administrators, and campus partners by providing recommendations, guidance, and design solutions that support communications goals. Maintain project records, documentation, and digital asset management systems to support efficient workflows and long-term accessibility of creative resources.
Production, Technology & Organizational Support
  • Coordinate print production activities, develop print specifications, and work with vendors to ensure quality and successful project completion.
  • Assist with evaluating design software, hardware, and emerging technologies that support creative operations. Collaborate with administrative and fiscal staff to ensure compliance with university policies and purchasing procedures.
  • Provide consultation, training, and resources related to visual communication, brand standards, accessibility requirements, and design best practices.
Team Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
  • Participate in creative reviews and design critiques to maintain high standards and support a culture of collaboration and innovation.
  • Assist with photography direction, installations, and special projects as needed. Maintain and organize creative assets to ensure accessibility, consistency, and preservation of institutional resources.

  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat.
  • Strong knowledge of graphic design, typography, branding, layout, and visual communication principles.
  • Experience designing for both print and digital media.
  • Knowledge of print production processes and vendor coordination.
  • Experience working within established brand standards.
  • Familiarity with accessibility requirements, including WCAG 2.1 AA standards.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
  • Experience using project management systems such as Workfront.
  • Experience working in higher education, communications, marketing, or agency environments.
