Job summary

Columbia University Irving Medical Center in New York seeks a Financial Analyst to support financial management and research administration for Neurology faculty. The role reports to the Sr.

Manager Director of Finance and handles funded project budgets, reporting, and compliance. Responsibilities include assisting PIs with grant proposals, coordinating with SPA on awards, performing budget reconciliations, and maintaining funding forecasts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience.
• Experience in non-profit environment with grants and financial management.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word.
• Knowledge of government and foundational granting requirements, grants administration and PeopleSoft financials.

Responsibilities

• Assists PIs in developing, reviewing, submitting and renewing sponsored project proposals from NIH, private foundations and industry.
• Ensures all programmatic reporting requirements (quarterly and/or annual progress and financial reports) are completed on time.
• Liaises with SPA to set up awards, pre-award compliance, and sub-awards for awarded proposals.
• Assigns and reconciles expense allocations to funding sources in line with regulations and policies.
• Performs budget vs. actual reconciliations of funded projects and salary allocations.
• Maintains funding overviews/forecasts and reviews with faculty regularly.
• Keeps abreast of regulations and guidelines related to research grants and provides recommendations to PIs.
• Supports annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasts via data entry into budget tools.
• Completes routine internal reporting for sponsored projects and participates in audits.
