Job summary

Illinois Department of Agriculture seeks an Executive I Grants Technician to manage grants and support budget and reporting functions within the Grants Management System.

You will work with the Grants Manager and bureaus to develop program plans, coordinate with partners, and assist in ISL proposal planning and reporting to the General Assembly. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Requires one year of experience in grant administration, fiscal and performance/program reporting, and monitoring compliance with GATA.
• Requires one year of professional experience in accounting, external auditing, budgetary planning and control or public accounting.
• Requires one year developing and making public presentations, conducting training, and providing technical assistance to program or grant participants in both oral and written forms.

Responsibilities

• Organize, plan, and execute assigned grants in the Department's Grants Management System.
• Develop program plans and goals pertaining to Grants Management System administration.
• Serve as backup for bureau grant staff as needed.
• Coordinate with internal and external partners on requests and reports.
• Assist in planning Illinois State Legislative proposals and related forms for General Assembly submissions.
• Perform other duties within scope as required.
