Job summary

The Walton Family Foundation is seeking a Manager, Grants to oversee the Education Program's grants and contracts in Jersey City, NJ or Washington, DC. You will ensure grantmaking processes are efficient, compliant, and aligned with IRS regulations, while guiding a high-performing team and shaping organizational priorities.

You will collaborate with Legal, Finance, and Grants Administration to enhance systems, reporting, and operations, manage a $250M+ annual budget, and coach associates on

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
• Minimum 5 years in grants management, nonprofit operations, or private foundation grantmaking.
• Minimum 2 years staff or people management experience.
• Strong understanding of grantmaking processes, compliance, and documentation.
• Experience with Fluxx or similar grants management software.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Education Program grantmaking processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Lead budget and pipeline tracking, including forecasts and risks.
• Improve grants administration processes, resources, and systems.
• Define requirements for processes, reporting, and software systems.
• Manage projects aligned with goals and priorities, coaching staff.
