Job summary

Minimum Qualifications: BA in Business Management or related field; a minimum of two (2) years’ general experience in grant writing, proposal/application development, and project management experience relating to social service management. Five (5) years’ experience in coordinating fundraising events. Prior business and/or marketing experience preferred

Job Location: Yakima

Salary Range: $23.85- $31.11/hr.

Position Overview

The Grants & Development Coordinator plays a key role in advancing OIC of Washington's mission by supporting organizational growth through grant development, fundraising, donor engagement, and strategic partnerships. This position coordinates the full lifecycle of grants, from researching funding opportunities and developing competitive proposals to supporting implementation, compliance, reporting, and closeout, as needed. Working collaboratively with executive leadership, program directors, fiscal staff, and community partners, the Grant & Development Coordinator helps secure and steward public and private funding while leading fundraising initiatives that strengthen the organization's long-term sustainability. This position requires exceptional project management, communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced nonprofit environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Grant Development & Proposal Coordination
  • Research and identify federal, state, local, foundation, corporate, and other funding opportunities aligned with OIC's mission and strategic priorities.
  • Coordinate the planning, writing, editing, and submission of competitive grant proposals, applications, letters of inquiry, and other funding requests.
  • Collaborate with program directors, executive leadership, fiscal staff, and subject matter experts to develop proposal narratives, budgets, work plans, logic models, and supporting documentation.
  • Maintain an annual grants calendar tracking funding opportunities, proposal deadlines, reporting schedules, renewal dates, and grant milestones.
  • Maintain proposal templates, organizational boilerplate language, demographic information, and grant resource materials.
Grant Administration & Compliance
  • Coordinate grant administration activities following award notification.
  • Work collaboratively with communications, data and development director, data manager, program leadership, and fiscal staff to monitor grant deliverables, reporting requirements, and compliance obligations.
  • Assist in preparing timely programmatic reports, continuation applications, and grant amendments.
  • Maintain organized electronic grant files, award documentation, contracts, and correspondence.
  • Monitor grant reporting schedules and communicate upcoming deadlines to appropriate staff.
  • Support grant closeout activities and maintain documentation for audits and funder reviews.
Development & Fundraising
  • Co-lead in planning, coordinating, and implementing organizational fundraising events and campaigns.
  • Co-lead fundraising initiatives with the Communications, Data & Development Director, executive leadership, and organizational leadership.
  • Develop sponsorship opportunities and cultivate relationships with corporate partners, foundations, donors, and community supporters.
  • Coordinate fundraising event logistics, timelines, sponsorship packages, budgets, volunteer support, vendor coordination, and event communications.
  • Maintain donor, sponsor, and fundraising databases, ensuring accurate records and stewardship activities.
  • Prepare donor acknowledgments, sponsorship recognition materials, impact reports, and follow-up communications.
  • Assist in developing annual fundraising goals, campaign strategies, sponsorship plans, and revenue projections.
  • Evaluate fundraising activities and prepare reports measuring participation, sponsorship revenue, donor engagement, and return on investment.
Donor & Community Engagement
  • Assist with cultivating positive relationships with funders, donors, community organizations and strategic partners.
  • Coordinate meetings, presentations, and communications with current and prospective funders.
  • Assist with donor stewardship activities including recognition, impact reporting, and ongoing engagement.
  • Represent OIC of Washington at community meetings, networking events, conferences, and fundraising activities as assigned.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen partnerships that advance organizational priorities.
Organizational Development
  • Coordinate the collection of organizational data needed for grant proposals and reports.
  • Gather program outcomes, success stories, needs assessment data, demographic information, and community impact metrics.
  • Monitor funding trends and emerging grant opportunities affecting nonprofit organizations and workforce development programs.
  • Support special projects assigned by agency leadership.
Administrative Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate records of grant submissions, awards, fundraising activities, sponsorships, and donor engagement.
  • Develop reports and dashboards summarizing grant activity, fundraising performance, and funding outcomes.
  • Ensure all development files and organizational records are maintained according to agency standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
