Job summary

Face to Face Health and Counseling is a Minnesota nonprofit serving youth with a focus on health equity. We seek a Grants Coordinator to manage foundation and government grants from research through reporting, coordinating with program and finance teams to secure funding and ensure compliance.

This full-time, onsite role requires strong grant writing, organization, and cross-stakeholder collaboration. Benefits include health/dental, retirement, PTO and holidays in a unionized environment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the full grant lifecycle for foundation and government grants and contracts, including research, planning, application development, submission, award acceptance, compliance, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Research funding opportunities and assess alignment with Face to Face’s mission, priorities, program needs, capacity, and budget.
  • Develop grant calendars, work plans, timelines, and coordinate staff contributions for timely submissions.
  • Collaborate with program, finance, data, and leadership staff to create compelling grant applications reflecting priorities and outcomes.
  • Write grant applications with a social justice and equity lens centering youth experiences and needs.
  • Review award notices, agreements, and contracts; identify requirements and risks; provide clear guidance to staff.
  • Coordinate grant acceptance and prepare concise summaries of scope of work, deliverables, and budgets.
  • Support post-award implementation; ensure understanding of deliverables, budgets, and reporting responsibilities.
  • Monitor compliance throughout the award period and address modifications as needed.
  • Track reporting requirements and deadlines; ensure timely and accurate submissions.
  • Prepare narrative, outcome, and financial reports showing performance and funding needs.
  • Maintain organized electronic and physical records for grants and contracts.
  • Maintain professional relationships with staff, funders, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Provide services guided by the Nine Evidence-Based Principles for Helping Youth Overcome Homelessness.
  • Support priority projects and organizational needs as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW:

Face to Face Health and Counseling is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing economic and health equity for youth ages 11–24. We do this work through a comprehensive approach that includes medical, mental health, housing, education and employment, youth justice, and community programs. We take a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach to our work and center the needs of young people impacted by racism and other forms of oppression and marginalization. Founded in 1972, Face to Face serves more than 4,000 youth annually.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Grants Coordinator is responsible for all functions related to securing, managing, and monitoring foundation and government grants and contracts, including city, county, state, and federal funding opportunities. This is a full-time position at 37.5 hours a week.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Coordinate the full grant lifecycle for foundation and government grants and contracts, including research, planning, application development, submission, award acceptance, compliance, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Research and identify funding opportunities and work with staff to assess alignment with Face to Face’s mission, strategic priorities, program needs, organizational capacity, and budget.
  • Develop and maintain grant calendars, work plans, and timelines; communicate requirements and deadlines; and coordinate staff contributions to ensure complete and timely submissions.
  • Collaborate with program, finance, data, and leadership staff to develop accurate and compelling grant applications that reflect program priorities, services, outcomes, and funding needs.
  • Write grant applications using a social justice and equity lens that centers the experiences, strengths, and needs of youth.
  • Review grant award notices, agreements, and contracts; identify key requirements, risks, and obligations; and provide staff with clear information to support acceptance decisions.
  • Coordinate the grant acceptance process and prepare concise grant summaries outlining scope of work, deliverables, budgets, reporting requirements, compliance requirements, and key deadlines.
  • Facilitate post-award implementation by ensuring program, data, and Finance staff understand grant requirements, deliverables, budget provisions, documentation expectations, and reporting responsibilities.
  • Monitor grant and contract compliance throughout the award period. Identify and communicate potential compliance concerns promptly and coordinate written requests for work plan, budget, or other modifications when needed.
  • Track all reporting requirements and deadlines and coordinate with responsible staff to ensure reports are accurate, complete, and submitted on time.
  • Coordinate with program, data, and finance staff to prepare required narrative, outcome, and financial reports that demonstrate performance and support continued funding.
  • Maintain accurate, organized, and current electronic and hard-copy records for grants and contracts, including applications, agreements, correspondence, reports, modifications, and compliance documentation.
  • Maintain effective and professional working relationships with staff, youth, funders, government partners, nonprofit organizations, and community stakeholders.
  • Provide all services guided by the Nine Evidence-Based Principles for Helping Youth Overcome Homelessness; and
  • Demonstrate flexibility and a team-oriented approach by stepping in to support priority projects and organizational needs as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

LOCATION:

Essential Onsite Flex – This role requires the employee to be onsite, with the possibility of some specific and limited remote hours. Employees are required to fully on site during the initial three-month training period.

PAY & BENEFITS

The pay rate for this position is between $36 and $38, based on qualifications.
