Job summary

The Public Interest Network is seeking a smart, passionate Grants Department Assistant to work with advocates and organizers nationwide to raise grant funding for campaigns that protect the environment and the public interest.

The role bases in Los Angeles, CA or Washington, DC, with compensation ranges described in the posting. Ideal candidates bring a bachelors degree, strong writing and exceptional organizational and project management skills, plus the ability to collaborate across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree required; one year of relevant professional experience preferred.
• Excellent writing, administrative and project management skills.
• Strong organizational abilities and systems development skills.
• Ability to translate campaigns into compelling stories and complete a writing/editing test.

Responsibilities

• Research potential funders to support our work.
• Maintain the central database of foundations, staff, board members, and news.
• Curate cultivation lists of funders to stay updated on our programs and campaigns.
• Manage grantseeking activity reporting and deadlines.
• Write and edit grant proposals, funder updates, reports, and pitch materials.
• Assist with organization-building activities and staff training.
