Job summary

Jefferson Health Plans in Philadelphia is seeking a RACE Grants Administrator I to support post-award research administration for assigned departments. You will assist PIs and departmental staff with routine financial, compliance, and administrative tasks, maintain grant records, monitor basic expenditures, and help prepare standard post-award deliverables under supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
  • Assists with the day-to-day administration of assigned grants, supporting compliance with sponsor and institutional requirements, monitoring routine financial activity, and helping Principal Investigators (PIs) track basic award progress.
  • Maintains accurate and organized accounting records by entering and updating financial information, assisting with payroll distribution checks, and helping reconcile accounts to the General Ledger under the direction of senior staff.
  • Supports communication between PIs, departmental staff, and ORA/SPAO by responding to straightforward inquiries, routing questions to appropriate personnel, and helping resolve basic administrative issues related to expenditures and award management.
  • Assists in the preparation of standard post-award deliverables—including progress report components, budget updates, and agency-required information—ensuring timely submission and accuracy.
  • Participates in required training, professional development, and institutional initiatives to build foundational knowledge of research administration policies, procedures, and best practices, applying new skills to daily tasks as proficiency increases.

The Grants Administrator I works with straightforward research portfolios and gains foundational experience in grant administration processes while developing effective working relationships with faculty and the Office of Research Administration.
