Job Title: Grant Writer (Education & Arts Nonprofits)

Location: Remote (Hawaii-based preferred)

Job Type: Contract/Freelance

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Grant Writer to help secure funding for our education and arts initiatives. The ideal candidate has a strong track record in writing and winning grants for K-12 education and nonprofit organizations, particularly in the arts and culture sector. Candidates based in Hawaii are strongly preferred due to our cultural focus.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Research, identify, and apply for grant opportunities that align with our mission.
  2. Write compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and funding applications.
  3. Develop persuasive narratives, budgets, and supporting materials for grant submissions.
  4. Maintain a grants calendar to track deadlines, reporting requirements, and funding cycles.
  5. Collaborate with program staff to gather necessary data and impact stories.
  6. Ensure compliance with grant guidelines and reporting requirements.

Qualifications:

  1. Proven experience in grant writing, particularly in K-12 education and nonprofit arts/culture sectors.
  2. Strong research, writing, and editing skills with attention to detail.
  3. Knowledge of funding sources for education and arts nonprofits.
  4. Ability to manage multiple grant applications and deadlines efficiently.
  5. Hawaii-based applicants are preferred, but remote candidates with relevant experience will be considered.
