Position Summary:
The CLSD Grant Specialist will support and coordinate activities related to the Comprehensive Literacy State Development (CLSD) grant. This role focuses on promoting the Science of Reading and supporting literacy initiatives from birth through grade 12.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and manage grant activities
- Monitor grant budgets and ensure compliance
- Maintain collaboration across agency teams and community partners
- Support grant documentation and reporting
- Data entry and analysis
- Budget tracking and fiscal coordination
- Assist in procurement and accounting processes
- Promote Science of Reading and evidence-based literacy practices
- Provide professional development and technical assistance to:
- Schools
- Early Childhood Programs
- Create and deliver presentations, webinars, and training sessions
- Support implementation of high‑quality early childhood programming
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree OR 2+ years of relevant experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in:
- Coaching or technical assistance
- Grant support or coordination
- Experience with grant management
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications:
- Arizona Teaching Certification (Literacy/Reading Endorsement)
- Experience managing state or federal grants
- Experience working with children, families, or early childhood programs
- Knowledge of fiscal management and budgeting
Knowledge & Skills:
- Science of Reading & evidence-based literacy practices
- Adult learning principles
- Budget tracking and fiscal processes
- Research, data analysis, and assessment
- Strong public speaking and presentation skills
- Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders
