Job summary

Calhoun County Public School District seeks an Elementary Special Education Interventionist to join our instructional team, focused on early academic, behavioral, and developmental support for students in kindergarten through 5th grade.

The successful candidate will design targeted, high-impact interventions, collaborate with general educators, families, and specialists to close achievement gaps and ensure strong IEP implementation and PBIS supports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, Elementary Education, or a closely related field.
• Must hold a valid South Carolina Teaching Certification in Special Education.

Responsibilities

• Targeted Instruction: Deliver research-based, multi-sensory interventions in foundational literacy and early numeracy to individuals and small groups.
• Data-Driven Planning: Analyze screening tools, diagnostic data, and progress monitoring metrics to design, modify, and pace individualized learning plans.
• IEP Compliance & Advocacy: Collaborate on the development of IEPs, attend meetings, and ensure accommodations and modifications are implemented with fidelity.
• Behavioral Support: Implement PBIS to foster social-emotional growth, self-regulation, and classroom engagement.
• Collaborative Consultation: Co-plan with general education teachers to support push-in strategies and coach instructional assistants on intervention delivery.
• Family Engagement: Maintain regular communication with parents/guardians regarding student growth and strategies for home reinforcement.

Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Elementary Special Education Interventionist to join our instructional team. The successful candidate will design and deliver targeted, high-impact academic and behavioral interventions for students with diverse learning needs. They will work closely with general education teachers, families, and specialized staff to close achievement gaps and ensure every child has the foundational skills to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Targeted Instruction: Deliver research-based, multi-sensory interventions in foundational literacy (phonics, phonemic awareness) and early numeracy to individuals and small groups.
• Data-Driven Planning: Analyze screening tools, diagnostic data, and progress monitoring metrics to design, modify, and pace individualized learning plans.
• IEP Compliance & Advocacy: Collaborate on the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), attend meetings, and ensure all accommodations and modifications are implemented with fidelity.
• Behavioral Support: Implement positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS) to foster social-emotional growth, self-regulation, and classroom engagement.
• Collaborative Consultation: Co-plan with general education teachers to support push-in strategies and coach instructional assistants on intervention delivery.
• Family Engagement: Maintain regular, transparent communication with parents and guardians regarding student growth, strategies for home reinforcement, and evaluation metrics.
