Job summary

Navajo Health Foundation/Sage Memorial Hospital is seeking a grant-funded Public Health Nutrition Specialist to support P4 program activities focused on nutrition, wellness, and community outreach within Navajo Nation communities.

You will coordinate produce delivery, develop nutrition curricula, and provide health education resources. Strong communication, cultural awareness, and the ability to work independently are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in health education/Public Health/Nutrition or related field; one year medical environment experience.
• Associate degree with two years experience in health education, community outreach or similar role.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Valid Arizona driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and implement grant-related program activities for the P4 program.
• Cultivate partnerships with community organizations and local stakeholders.
• Develop health education programs to promote healthy eating and nutrition.
• Deliver workshops on nutrition, cooking and produce benefits.
• Coordinate produce delivery from local grocers for participants.
• Monitor participant compliance and address noncompliance as needed.
• Evaluate program effectiveness and recommend improvements.
• Cross-train to assist with other nutrition and wellness activities.
