About this Position
- OSU Community Wellness Programs (CWP) is a mission-driven team working to strengthen the health outcomes and well-being of the communities we serve.
- OSU CWP is seeking a motivated, community Grant Coordinator who is passionate about empowering local communities through a variety of evidence-based public health strategies.
- The coordinator must have knowledge and understanding of using the public health approach to positively make an impact in on population level public health issues.
Primary Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with partnering coalitions, local leaders, schools, and community organizations to:
- Build work plans.
- Carry out community assessments.
- Support awareness, advocacy, and education initiatives to reduce identified gaps in services.
- Organize special events.
- Deliver presentations.
- Conduct trainings.
- Gather local data.
- Help communities access resources and support.
- Develop outreach materials.
- Maintain accurate records and reports.
- Ensure projects stay aligned with goals, policies, and timelines.
- Develop print and media articles for publication.
- Exhibit effectiveness in developing, and conforming to policies and procedures.
- Support and enforce organizational commitments and goals.
- Complete assignments in line with established budgets and schedules.
- Enjoy engaging with people, building relationships, and contributing to a healthier, safer community.
Requirements and Additional Information
- Must possess a valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
- Travel within service areas is required.
- Occasional evening and weekends, out-of-town, and out-of-state work may be required.
- Additional duties may be assigned based on the departmental needs, funding availability, and employee skills.
- The role may evolve to support other projectors or functions within the department as priorities shift.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's
Behavioral Sciences, Education, Public Health, Health Promotion, Marketing, PR, or Related Field
(degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)

Ability to lift 10lbs.

- Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues, community members, and other vested partners.
- Knowledge of principles, practices, and management of work plan development and grant writing.
- Skills and competency as an educator capable of effective training and supervision.
- Knowledge of community organization and assessment.
- Knowledge of current trends and practices.
- Ability to complete and maintain accurate records.
- Ability to assist in the completion and submission of grant applications.
- Ability to produce and submit media publications for various media outlets (newspaper, radio, social media).
