Job summary

Grain Processing Corporation in Washington, IN, seeks a Process Operator to operate equipment for grain byproducts production. You will maintain equipment, troubleshoot issues, and perform daily quality checks within a safety-conscious environment.

The role requires a high school diploma, basic computer skills, and the ability to work in a dusty, non-climate-controlled setting on a 12-hour rotating schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays. Training on PPE use is provided.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or above.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English.
  • Reasoning and problem-solving skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Non-climate-controlled environment (working in and around heat and cold).
  • Be able to work in an environment with dust or dirt.
  • 12-hour rotating shift operation - rotate from days to nights every two weeks. This includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to climb ladders, stairs, and work at heights.
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces.
  • Must wear protective equipment (hard hat, steel or composite toe shoes/boots, safety glasses, ear protection, and respirator)
  • Ability to lift up to 55 lbs

Responsibilities

  • Operate equipment for the manufacturing of grain byproducts.
  • Maintain good operating condition of all equipment; troubleshoot and write work orders.
  • Perform housekeeping to maintain a safe, clean area.
  • Work with minimal supervision to maintain process flow and production schedules.
  • Keep precise records of production, quality, and environmental impacts in daily logs.
  • Pull product samples and perform quality checks; record results.
  • Coordinate with QC lab to ensure results are in spec.
  • Follow safety and environmental regulations; report incidents as required.
  • Assist with handling, storage, and flow of finished product through warehouse/packaging.
  • Facilitate rail or truck loading/unloading of product.
  • Assist other production operators when issues arise.
