Job summary

New Vision Co-op is seeking a Grain Operations Manager to lead the Grain Operations division, supervise supervisors, and coordinate labor and equipment with the Operations Supervisors. You will manage grain quantity, quality, and inventory, ensuring safe operation and cost efficiency.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree with years of experience in grain elevator/agronomy operations, plus strong software skills and a valid driver’s license. Competitive benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field with 4 years’ grain elevator/agronomy operations experience.
• GED/High School Diploma with 7 years’ grain elevator and agronomy ops experience.
• Knowledge of bulk material handling and equipment operation with safe repair abilities.
• Proficiency in database, spreadsheet, and word processing software.
• Attention to detail, multi-tasking, and strong organizational skills.
• Supervisory experience preferred and a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Grain Operations and supervise Grain Operations Supervisors.
• Coordinate labor and equipment needs with Operations Supervisors.
• Ensure full utilization of Grain Operations staff to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Manage grain quantity, quality, and location-based inventory; report issues.
• Monitor grain inventory system and bin temperature cables by location.
• Coordinate elevator receiving, shipping logistics, and quality requirements with Grain Dept Manager.

Summary: Responsible for all employees and operational oversight of Grain Operations for New Vision Coop production and facilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Supports New Vision Co-op’s stated Vision, Mission, and Business Values.
• Projects a positive attitude to customers and employees always.
• Provides outstanding and courteous customer service.
• Drive Operational and employee efficiencies throughout the Grain Divisions.
• Coach, lead and provide continuing education and constant learning environment for direct and indirect reports.
• Directly supervise Grain Operations Supervisors.
• Coordinate labor and equipment requirements and needs with Operations Supervisors.
• Ensure the company is always fully utilizing operations employees across Grain to improve efficiencies and reduce labor costs.
• Manages Grain quantity and quality and inventory by location and report issues.
• Monitor grain inventory system and bin temp cables by location (if applicable).
• Coordinates elevator receiving and shipping logistics and quality requirements with Grain Department Manager and Grain Operations Supervisors

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in related field and 4 years’ experience or High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and 7 years’ experience in grain elevator and agronomy operations.
• Must have an understanding of bulk material handling and equipment operation and the ability to analyze and repair equipment failures in the safest and most efficient manner possible.
• To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
• Attention to detail, multi-tasking, organizational skills
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.
