Job summary

Horicon Grain in Horicon, WI is seeking a full-time Grain Handler to support the grain division with daily tasks under the Location Manager. Duties include loading/unloading grain, operating trucks, and maintaining equipment with a safety-first mindset.

Responsibilities cover customer service, equipment operation (skid loader, forklift, scales, moisture meters, and dryers), and maintaining cleanliness and safety across the facility.

  • Ability to work long hours during the busy grain and agronomy seasons.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a high level of customer service by displaying courteous, helpful, and knowledgeable interaction and behaviors.
  • Unload, load and transfer grain and grain products including truck operations.
  • Operate skid loader and forklift on a regular basis and in a safe manner.
  • Operate grain handling equipment including scales/moisture meter/dryers.
  • Monitor equipment to ensure it is in good working order, participate in the overall maintenance of the facility and equipment - notify management of any necessary repairs or possible equipment concerns.
  • Understand the proper operation of conveyance equipment that is utilized in the shipping, receiving, and transferring of grain and grain products and the associated safety systems of that equipment.
  • Housekeeping as related, but not limited to, the cleanliness and orderliness of the grain handling area, as well as any areas within the plant as delegated by the Location Manager.
  • Work safely within company policy, procedures, and governmental regulations and fully participate in company safety programs.
  • Be an involved/engaged member of a team and be willing to act and think independently.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Location: Horicon Grain - Horicon, WI, Position Type: Full Time, Salary Range: Undisclosed, Job Shift: Day, Support the cooperative's grain division by completing the daily tasks as assigned by the Location Manager. Provide excellent customer service to customers and perform duties with a safety-first mindset. Safely load and unload trucks for incoming and outgoing commodities. Seasonally assist with agronomy operations.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:

This job operates in an outdoor environment. There is exposure to grain dust, weather elements, and heavy truck and machinery activity.

The employee will regularly be required to stand, walk, reach, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs.

Must be able to work in confined spaces, climb ladders, handle heights, and work in all weather conditions.
