Mott MacDonald is seeking graduates to join the Blueprint program in Houston, Texas, a structured three-year development journey with an award-winning learning partner. You will work with engineering consultants, project managers, and SMEs to build drafting, CAD, and professional skills from day one.

This hybrid role emphasizes collaboration, mentorship, and growth as you contribute to sustainable infrastructure projects and client engagements across the US and Canada.

Qualifications

• Two years of post-secondary education or equivalent drafting experience required.
• Associate degree in design/technology preferred.
• Hands-on experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation is preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs is expected.
• Demonstrated interest through internships, volunteering, or memberships.

Responsibilities

• Assist with developing drawings, preliminary layouts, sketches or marked-up prints.
• Prepare plans, profiles and sections using CAD drawings.
• Operate CAD workstations, plotters, printers, and related equipment.
• Draft to company and national standards (symbols, nomenclature, terms).
• Join project and client meetings.
• Refine technical designs and documentation.
• Explore project and client management opportunities.
• Leverage digital tools and drive sustainable outcomes.

As a participant in Blueprint, our new graduate program, you will embark on a structured three-year development journey designed in collaboration with an award-winning learning provider. The program combines immersive learning experiences with required development sessions to build the professional, commercial, and personal effectiveness skills graduates need to thrive and lead in our business.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Assist with developing drawings, preliminary layouts, sketches or marked-up prints utilizing conventional drafting tools and/or computer assisted design/drafting programs
• Preparing Plans, profiles, sections details electrical drawings using AutoCAD or similar industry accepted tools.
• Operating of CADD workstations, plotters, printers, and other associated equipment to support the preparation of designs for engineering projects
• Perform drafting to accepted company and national standards, e.g., symbols, nomenclatures, engineering terms, etc.
• Joining project and client meetings
• Refining technical designs and documentation
• Exploring project and client management
• Leveraging digital tools and innovation
• Driving sustainable outcomes

To be considered for this position, here's what you'll need:

• Two years of post-secondary education or high school graduate with drafting experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Preferred qualification will be Associate in applied science in electrical, Mechanical or Architectural design/technology.
• Hands on experience with AutoCAD, Microstation will be preferred.
• Proficency with Microsoft Office Programs
• Demonstrated interest in your chosen field through previous internships, volunteering opportunities, or organization memberships
• Creative thinking skills, with a methodical and pragmatic approach to problem solving
• Proficient communication and presentation skills to engage confidently with clients and colleagues
• Resilient, solution-oriented mindset, with a focus on continuous growth and delivering value

This position is located in Houston, TX. You must be able to reliably commute to our office in this location, per our hybrid working policy.

The expected salary for this position is $76,000 - $84,000

Individual pay is determined based on several factors such as work location, education, experience, and unique skills.
