The University of Texas at Austin Graduate program is seeking a Graduate Research Assistant to support an NIH-funded, multi-site longitudinal study on transitional care for persons living with dementia and their family caregivers. The role requires in-person presence at Austin sites and training in geriatric assessment will be provided.

Responsibilities include recruitment, data collection, interviews, data entry and quality monitoring across three aims, with travel to Austin hospital sites.

Qualifikationen

• Enrolled as a Master’s or Doctoral student at The University of Texas at Austin Graduate program (Nursing, Public Health, Social Work, Gerontology, or a related field)
• Working proficiency in spoken and written Spanish, sufficient to communicate directly with PLWD participants and family caregivers.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to travel regularly to Austin hospital sites (personal vehicle or other reliable transportation).
• Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Aufgaben

• Support recruitment and data collection across Aims 1–3.
• Identify and approach eligible PLWD-caregiver dyads during hospitalization, administer baseline assessments, and conduct 1-month and 3-month post-discharge follow-up assessments.
• Assist with recruiting caregivers and providers from hospital, SNF, and community-based settings in Austin and Houston.
• Conduct in-depth interviews with hospital, SNF, and community-based provider participants.
• Coordinate with the Baylor Houston site coordinator to promote the study and support consistent implementation of study procedures across sites.
• Enter, clean, and score quantitative data and support qualitative data coding and analysis.
• Support daily management and quality monitoring of study data across all three aims.
• Schedule interviews, order study supplies, and process participant incentive payments.
• Respond to participant questions and provide study-related information throughout participation.
