Job summary

Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, ME, is seeking a new graduate Respiratory Care Practitioner to join our night shift team. You will perform basic respiratory care procedures under supervision, help assess and monitor patients with cardiopulmonary disorders, and progress toward full licensure and independent practice.

Qualified candidates have an accredited respiratory therapy program, Maine temporary license, NBRC eligibility, and BLS; ACLS within 3 months, PALS preferred, CRT/RRT

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a CoARC-accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
  • Eligible to sit for the NBRC credentialing exams.
  • Holds a Temporary Respiratory Therapist License from the Maine Board of Respiratory Care Practitioners.
  • BLS certification required upon hire and maintained.
  • ACLS certification to be obtained within three months of hire.
  • PALS certification preferred.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program certificate preferred.
  • CRT or RRT credential within three months of hire.

  • The Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) new graduate is an entry-level clinical role designed for new graduate respiratory therapists. Under the direction of a licensed physician and departmental leadership, the RCP new graduate provides basic respiratory care procedures and participates in the assessment, treatment, and monitoring of patients with cardiopulmonary disorders.

This role supports safe, high-quality, and evidence-based care while progressing toward full licensure and independent practice.

Qualifications
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
Graduate of a CoARC-accredited Respiratory Therapy program.

Eligible to sit for the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) credentialing exams.

Holds a Temporary Respiratory Therapist License from the Maine Board of Respiratory Care Practitioners.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certified from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) upon hire and maintain current.
  • Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the AHA or ARC certification to be obtained three (3) months of hire.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the AHA certification preferred.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program certificate is preferred.
  • Associate degree required.
  • Achievement of CRT or RRT credential through NBRC within three (3) months of hire.

Pay Transparency
Central Maine Medical Center offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $25.00 to $27.35. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
