Job summary

Govineer is seeking a Graduate Product Manager to begin a product career, learning to understand customers, spot market shifts, and shape decisions across the full lifecycle. You will work with Engineering, Design, Sales, Support, and Marketing on releases and testing AI-enabled workflows.

You will gain ownership with coaching from leaders and contribute to product discovery, requirements, experiments, and launch coordination, including measurement and documentation.

• Clear writing, structured thinking, curiosity about customers, data comfort.

Position Graduate Product Manager

The opportunity

Start your product career by helping Govineer bring useful customer-facing products to market. You will learn how to understand customers, spot market shifts, shape product decisions, and turn early ideas into clear, usable experiences. You will have meaningful ownership, close coaching from experienced leaders, and exposure to the full product lifecycle. This role combines early-career product management with hands-on product design work.

What you will do

• Research customers, competitors, partners, and emerging technology; turn findings into short, useful market intelligence for product teams.
• Learn how local governments buy and use software, including the different needs of finance staff, utility teams, administrators, and residents.
• Join customer conversations, organize what you learn, and help teams distinguish observed needs from assumptions.
• Map user journeys and create simple wireframes or interactive prototypes to explore solutions with customers and teammates.
• Help plan and run usability tests; use what people actually do and say to improve flows, content, and accessibility.
• Support discovery, product requirements, experiments, release planning, launch coordination, and measurement for customer-facing features.
• Maintain clear product information, decision records, roadmaps, launch checklists, and team rituals so work is easy to follow and act on.
• Work with Engineering, Design, Sales, Support, and Marketing to prepare releases and learn from customer use.
• Explore where AI can improve a real workflow, then help test usefulness, quality, and trust with users.

What you bring

• A recent degree in any relevant field, or equivalent early-career experience, and a strong interest in product management.
• Evidence of initiative through an internship, project, startup, research, community effort, or product you helped launch.
• Clear writing, structured thinking, curiosity about customers, and comfort working with data.
• An interest in product design and evidence that you can communicate an idea visually, whether through coursework, a portfolio, a prototype, or a personal project. Familiarity with a design tool such as Figma is useful, but not required.
• The ability to organize details, follow through, and ask good questions across technical and nontechnical teams.
• A willingness to learn public-service and enterprise software domains. Prior government technology experience is not expected.

Nice to have: A project, internship, or volunteer experience related to civic technology or public service. It is not required.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

This is a primarily office-based or remote role involving standard computer work. The position requires the ability to work independently, manage recurring deadlines, and maintain a high level of accuracy in a deadline-driven environment. Regular interaction with internal and external stakeholders is expected, with an emphasis on providing responsive, professional, and solution-oriented support. Primarily office-based or remote role with moderate travel (15-25% annually), consisting of on-site engagements, team meetings, and company events. Occasional weekend travel may be required to accommodate work and meeting schedules.
