Job summary

UTHealth Houston is seeking a Graduate Perfusionist to join the Advanced Heart Failure (AHF) team in Houston, TX. The role operates the heart-lung machine and ECMO during complex cardiac procedures, including heart and lung transplants and LVAD placements, with 24/7 in-house coverage in a high-acuity environment.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team using cutting-edge technology and participate in data collection and quality controls to support patient care and program growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required and completion of an accredited Perfusionist program.
• Provisional or full licensure with Texas Medical Board required within specified timeframe.
• Experience with ECMO, CPB and intraoperative perfusion support preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate heart-lung machine and CPB equipment during surgeries.
• Provide in-house perfusion support 24/7/365.
• Assist with myocardial protection and cardioplegia delivery.
• Record perfusion data and participate in data collection for ELSO registry.
• Coordinate equipment setup, priming, and safety checks.
• Support organ procurement and transport as needed.
