Job summary

Northern Light Acadia Hospital in Bangor, Maine, seeks a Graduate Occupational Therapist in training for a PRN role in the Occupational Therapy department. Schedule is 8 hours per week with a pathway to permanent licensure after passing the Maine exam.

Under supervision, you will gain hands-on experience, develop evaluation and report-writing skills, and participate in an interdisciplinary team to support client-centered goals and safety in care.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited occupational therapy program.
• Eligible to take the Maine Occupational Therapy exam.
• Temporary licensure while awaiting permanent licensure.
• Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team and contribute to patient care.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competence in all evaluation components under supervision.
• Articulates rationale for tests used in evaluation and documents results.
• Produces comprehensive reports addressing strengths, deficits, and goals.
• Attends treatment team meetings and other unit meetings.
• Teaches caregivers and reviews recommendations as needed.
• Maintains SOAP/SOIEAP notes and progress documentation.
• Collaborates on client-centered group and individual treatment plans.
• Adheres to department, nursing, HR, and IDD policies and procedures.
