Job summary

ByteDance's Applied Machine Learning team is seeking a Research Scientist / Algorithm Engineer to advance the AML platform powering recommendations, ads, and search across products. You will own end-to-end ML lifecycle from ideation to production, focusing on scalable algorithms and developer experience.

You should have a strong foundation in ML theory and practice, a Bachelor's degree or higher, and experience with distributed systems or ML algorithms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Familiar with the Linux development environment; fundamentals in systems programming, data structures, algorithms and system design.
• Experience with ML algorithms or large-scale distributed systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize the AML Machine Learning Platform, focusing on AI developer experience.
• Design solutions across the full model lifecycle—from development to inference—and improve iteration efficiency for engineers.
