Job summary

Edgehog Trading, a Chicago-based proprietary trading firm, seeks a student to join our engineering team to design and optimize low-latency C++ applications powering trading across CME, ICE, CBOE, and more. You’ll complete a 4-week onboarding that covers trading systems and low-latency practices, with hands-on mentorship from senior engineers.

You’ll collaborate with traders and quants to translate ideas into production-ready systems, maintain tools, and contribute to diagnostics and data

Qualifications

Final year student in CS/CE/EE or related field.
Strong C++ and fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, concurrency.
Experience in Linux and system-level programming is a plus.
Experience using AI agents to automate tasks is a plus.
Strong debugging and data-driven mindset.

Responsibilities

Complete a 4-week onboarding covering trading systems and low-latency practices.
Design, implement, and optimize low-latency C++ apps for trading across major exchanges.
Collaborate with traders, quants, and engineers to translate ideas into production systems.
Maintain and improve trading tools and infrastructure; build new ones from scratch.
Contribute to diagnostics and data analysis to prioritize high-impact work.
Work hands-on with proprietary quoting systems, models, and pricing infrastructure.
Transition into production ownership with senior mentorship.
