Job summary

Winterthur Library Graduate Internship supports emerging library professionals with an interest in special collections librarianship, particularly in art, design, history, and material culture.

As part of Winterthur Library, the intern will gain hands-on cataloging experience using FOLIO, ArchivesSpace, OCLC Connexion, and other systems, with opportunities for cross-department collaboration. The position lasts ~15 weeks, with 20 hours per week, offering credit options.

Qualifications

• B.A. in humanities required; must be enrolled in an ALA-accredited MLS program or equivalent.
• Experience with cataloging/metadata is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with MARC, DACS, EAD and related standards is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Catalogue materials across formats, languages, and eras using current best practices.
• Contribute complex copy cataloging and record enrichment for rare books and archives.
• Identify legacy metadata requiring review or remediation.
• Support archival description, public programming, and collection management activities.
• Collaborate with Winterthur Library and Memorial Library collections.
