Job summary

GHD is seeking a Graduate Environmental Scientist to join our team in a hybrid workplace, combining in-office collaboration three days per week with flexible work from elsewhere.

You will support environmental data collection, analysis, and reporting for client projects, perform data processing and quality checks, develop dashboards in Excel, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams while traveling 25-50% for fieldwork and site visits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Physical Science, or related field.
• 0-5 years of relevant environmental or engineering experience.
• Intermediate Excel skills with dashboards, data validation and PivotTables.
• Interest in data processing and computer programming.
• Willingness to travel regularly for fieldwork.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

• Support environmental data collection, analysis, and reporting activities for client projects.
• Perform data processing, quality control, and validation of project information to ensure accuracy.
• Develop and maintain spreadsheets, dashboards, and data tracking tools using Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams while also managing assigned tasks independently.
• Participate in fieldwork and site visits, including travel up to 25-50%, and work in various weather conditions.
• Support the GHD FIRST (Fast Incident Response Services Team) Emergency Response Program both remotely and in the field.
• Contribute to environmental, industrial hygiene, and remediation projects as needed.

What you will bring to the Team:

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Physical Science, or a related field.
• 0-5 years of relevant experience, including internships, co-ops, or other practical experience in environmental or engineering fields.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including: Conditional FormattingPivotTablesBasic DashboardsData ValidationLookup FunctionsWorking Across Multiple WorksheetsProficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Interest or experience in data processing and computer programming.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform quality control and review work for accuracy.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
• Interest in industrial hygiene and environmental remediation activities.
• Ability and willingness to travel regularly and perform field-based work.
• Ability to work from or near one of GHD's preferred office locations, including King of Prussia, PA; Farmington Hills, MI; Golden, CO; Chicago, IL; Charlotte, NC; or Phoenix, AZ. Candidates located near other major GHD offices may also be considered.
