Job summary

Baxter & Woodman is seeking a Graduate Engineer I to join our Houston or Katy, TX offices. You will support Project Managers with engineering design for water, wastewater, and municipal projects, and learn on the job.

The role requires a BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering and passing the FE exam (or ability to transfer within six months). Travel across the service area and strong communication skills are expected. Competitive compensation and generous benefits are provided.

• Must have passed FE Exam in Texas or be able to pass/transfer within 6 months.
• Ability to travel across Baxter & Woodman's service area with own transportation.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers with engineering design support for water, wastewater, and municipal projects.
• Prepare construction plans and specifications; perform design calculations; draft reports and cost estimates.
• Develop quantity takeoffs; evaluate municipal infrastructure; support permitting and regulatory compliance.
• Review contractor submittals; conduct field investigations; attend on-site meetings with project staff.

About the role

Your Impact Baxter & Woodman has a fulfilling opportunity for a Graduate Engineer I in our Houston or Katy TX office What your day to day will look like what you will learn on the job Assist Project Managers by providing engineering design support for various water wastewater and municipal projects Assist with preparation of construction plans and specifications; perform design calculations; conduct research; draft various engineering reports feasibility studies and bond applications; develop quantity takeoffs and cost estimates; evaluate municipal infrastructure systems; support permitting processes and ensure regulatory compliance; and review contractor submittals to provide technical support during construction Periodically conduct field investigations to verify site conditions and collect data Attend on site meetings with field project representatives andor contractors Work assignments will include both independent tasks and collaborative efforts as part of a project team

Education Requirement

BS degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering Must haves what you will bring Must have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering FE Exam in the state of Texas or be capable of passing or transferring exam within the first six months of employment Ability to travel throughout Baxter & Woodmans service area own transportation Strong verbal computer organizational and writing skills

Compensation

The pay range for this role is 74000 to 77000 Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate including but not limited to skill set depth of experience and certifications
