# Graduate EngineerDallas Office - Dallas, TX 75247## Description**Title:** Graduate Engineer **Reports to:** Senior Engineer **Department:** Engineering **Job Code:** GE **FLSA Status:** Exempt**Job Summary** General Engineering Support in managing structural engineering projects, including coordination with clients, organization, assist team members to execute the design, and leading the creation of construction documents.**Essential Duties and Responsibilities** May include any or all the following. Other duties may be assigned.* Review construction submittals for structural elements designed by Datum.* Calculate structural loads (e.g., Wind Load, Seismic, Gravity, etc.) based on Building Codes.* Perform Structural Analysis and Design Calculations for beams, columns, diaphragms, lateral force resisting systems, and other holistic structural systems and components, for incorporation into Construction Documents.* Perform jobsite visits to review structural elements’ general conformance with construction documents, and write related reports for clients.* Assist with gathering information about buildings and construction in the field, either in existing facilities or facilities under construction.* Work in building information models using Revit, depending on your abilities.* Communicate design results in the form construction documents.* Perform miscellaneous office tasks as needed, such as assistance with establishing and maintaining design standards.* Prepare framing layouts, markups, details, and scheduling drawings and sketches, typically using Bluebeam, to communicate structural design information to teammates, clients, and contractors.* Communicate with teammates and clients to understand project structural needs.* Develop a breadth of knowledge across multiple building types, structural materials, and systems.
