The Position

We are seeking a full-time Graduate Construction Observer / Manager to join our team. As a Construction Observer / Manager working within a team, you will interpret plans and specifications and keep accurate records of daily activities. You will also prepare Pay Estimates and Project Review Reports. Inspect and maintain records of grading operations, placement and handling of aggregate base, bituminous base course, bituminous wear course, concrete curb and gutter, concrete paving, sanitary sewer, forcemain and appurtenances, lift stations, watermain, wells, water storage tanks, storm sewer, traffic control devices, pavement markings, traffic signs, drainage improvements, and other structures. Check materials to ensure conformance to specifications and check for Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan conformance.

Experience/Education

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction Management (or equivalent degree)
• 0-3 years' experience

Position Requirements

• Ability to obtain MnDOT Technical Certifications for Grading and Base I & II, Concrete Field I & II, and Bituminous Streets I & II
• The ability to keep accurate records of daily activities
• Ability to carry up to 40 pounds while working in inclement weather
• Valid MN driver's license with an acceptable driving record
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship or other work visa petitions

Desired Qualifications

• Experience with Trimble Total Stations and GPS equipment
