Job summary

The City of Fridley is seeking an entry-level Graduate Engineer to support municipal civil projects, from streets to water and sewer systems. You’ll gain hands-on experience in design, project management, construction inspection, and documentation while collaborating with residents, contractors, and City staff.

Expected starting range applies to civil engineering tasks; qualified candidates may advance to higher rates for more experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited program.
• Valid Minnesota driver's license with no restrictions.
• FE exam completed or able to complete within six months of hire.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Must obtain MnDOT Technical Certification and MnSWPPP Certification within one year.

Responsibilities

• Assists in design of municipal projects, preparing feasibility reports, cost estimates, plans, specs and surveying.
• Assists in reviewing and designing construction plans to meet City standards for streets, drainage, sewers and trails.
• Collects data and prepares reports for MnDOT and other agencies.
• Performs or assists in construction inspections on streets, sewers, and water mains.
• Prepares technical reports and memoranda as directed.
• Coordinates project development and communicates plans with stakeholders.
