About the Role

Our client, a prominent manufacturing firm involved in specialized chemical production, is actively seeking enthusiastic Graduate Chemical Engineers for an internship program at their facility in Welkom, Free State. This program is designed to provide aspiring chemical engineers with hands-on experience across various aspects of chemical processing, plant operations, and engineering support. Interns will work closely with experienced engineers, gaining invaluable practical knowledge and contributing to ongoing projects. Key Responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers with process data collection and analysis.
• Support the development and review of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
• Participate in plant walk-downs and assist in identifying operational issues.
• Help conduct literature reviews and research for new process technologies.
• Assist in the preparation of technical reports and documentation.
• Support safety audits and ensure adherence to safety procedures.
• Gain exposure to various chemical engineering principles in a practical setting.
• Collaborate with team members on assigned projects.
• Learn to use process simulation software under guidance.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the operations team.

Requirements

• Recent graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong academic record with a solid understanding of fundamental chemical engineering principles.
• Eagerness to learn and apply theoretical knowledge in a practical industrial environment.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Basic understanding of process safety concepts.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Must be legally eligible to work in South Africa.
• Valid driver's license is an advantage.
