Job summary

Buro Happold’s Analytics service seeks a Graduate Building Physicist to influence high-profile projects using computational design and environmental modelling. You will explore thermal comfort, daylighting, and predictive analytics while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

The role offers hybrid working in the US, with opportunities to contribute to space optimization, operational efficiency, and visitor experience across diverse facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Architecture or design
• Knowledge on building physics and passive design
• Coursework in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
• Experience in programming languages such as Python
• Experience using Rhino and Grasshopper
• Experience using Ansys, STAR-CCM+, OpenFoam beneficial
• Interest in analytics and design
• Internship experience at an engineering related firm preferred
• Ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas in an accessible manner
• Eagerness to learn and work as part of a multidisciplinary team

Responsibilities

• Influence the design of complex high-profile projects
• Use computational design tools to solve complex inter-connected design problems
• Assist the design team in achieving our client’s aspirations
• Assist with developing new tools to optimize our work
• Undertake various environmental modeling analyses, including thermal comfort and daylighting
