Job summary

Buro Happold invites applications for a Graduate Acoustics Consultant in New York. The role involves contributing to innovative design solutions, creating acoustic models, and supporting field measurements in diverse locations worldwide.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team, learn in a collaborative environment, and help shape acoustical performance across iconic spaces while benefiting from a hybrid work pattern.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Acoustical Engineering, Building Physics, Architectural Engineering, or related discipline.
• Experience using CATT Acoustic, Odeon, CadnaA is beneficial.
• Knowledge of acoustical measurement techniques is beneficial.
• Ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas in an accessible manner.
• Eagerness to learn and work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Candidates are encouraged to apply even if they don’t meet all requirements.

Responsibilities

• Work on projects of many different types in locations around the world.
• Create acoustic models for different types of spaces.
• Perform acoustic measurements and tests in the field.
• Participate in design workshops.
• Prepare technical documents with design information.
• Experience firsthand how acoustic engineers approach and work on projects.
