Job summary

Delta Companies Inc. is seeking a skilled grader operator to spread and level dirt, gravel, and stone to meet finish grade specifications for highways, streets, airports, and site developments.

Operates self-propelled grader with attention to safety and quality, reading plans and stakes, and utilizing GPS where available. Must be reliable and able to work outdoors in varied conditions as part of Reeves Construction Company family.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• 5+ years of finish blade experience preferred.
• Experience operating other heavy equipment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• GPS experience preferred.
• Gravel set up experience preferred.
• Must provide own transportation to and from work.

Responsibilities

• Support, promote, and practice the Company core values, vision, and mission; follow code of ethics, workplace conduct, safety, and other established policies.
• Support the Delta safety culture and other Company strategic initiatives.
• Observe safety procedures, report potentially unsafe conditions, and use equipment and materials properly.
• Read and interpret survey markers and stakes to meet set standards; read and interpret plans and specifications.
• Connect hydraulic hoses, belts, mechanical linkage, or power takeoff shaft to tractor to provide power to raise, lower, or tilt attachment.
• Drive grader in successive passes over terrain to raise or lower terrain to specified grade following markings on grade stakes or hand signals.
• Operate blade to regulate elevation and angle of slopes; may perform fine or rough grading.
• Conduct equipment inspections and perform equipment maintenance tasks, including, but not limited to greasing, and checking/replacing oil and fluids; perform minor repairs on equipment.
• Operate other tools and equipment as required for assigned tasks.
• Assist in other areas as necessary for project completion.
